AIM Columnist, Pastor Charles Mantey honoured

Pastor Charles Mantey, founder and senior pastor of the Disciples Revival Church in Toronto, joined our writing staff in January 2013. Since then, he has provided incredible insights to our readers into the role of the missionaries in Africa through his thoughtful series tagged, “African Spirituality—Did  Africans Know God Before the Arrival of the Missionaries?” Pastor Mantey’s  delivery and style has been most effective, asking probing questions on this critical subject. In light of his fine contributions to the body of knowledge, particularly on the above subject, we were pleased to learn that in November, Pastor Mantey was recognized by the Ghana News in the category of religion not only for his selfless work in raising a flock of believers and training church leaders, but for his meritorious involvement in the community.  Under his leadership,  his church has been involved in volunteer work with the  Daily Bread Food Bank and Yonge Street Mission to feed the homeless and provide comfort and dignity. The church also raises funds through its ‘Climb the CN Tower’ program and Scotiabank marathon runs. Further, it organizes annual Thanksgiving dinners for the needy and runs  soccer clinics for disadvantaged kids. Congratulations, Pastor Mantey.
